Check Exchange mounted databases

Published by TheBlogger on

Did you (as an Exchange-administrator) ever find yourself in the position where users where calling you to tell their Outlook didn’t work anymore, and then finding 1 or more Exchange-databases were dismounted? Need to know ASAP when an Exchange-database gets dismounted?

Here’s a Powershell script that will send you an email whenever an Exchange database gets dismounted (for whatever reason). The script is to be scheduled in TaskMgr, it’s up to you how often (default 15 minutes) you want to check the status.

This script will give you as an administrator a tool to receive a message when a database gets dismounted, so you can quickly react on this.

If needed, you can also define a time at which you will always receive an email about the status of the databases (great for knowing all’s fine :-)).
